A Low Water Vapor Permeability, Laser-Weldable Black Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyamide Composition and Its Preparation Method

The present invention relates to a glass fiber reinforced polyamide, particularly to a black glass fiber reinforced polyamide composition with low water vapor permeability and laser weldability, and its preparation method. It comprises the following components by weight: polyamide resin 30-90; polyketone resin 5-45; Compatibilizer 0.2–3; Glass fiber 5–40; Antioxidant 0.1–1; Lubricant 0.3–2; Black pigment 0.05–1.5. Components other than glass fiber are thoroughly mixed according to the ratio, then fed into a twin-screw extruder. Glass fiber is introduced via a side feed port into the twin-screw extruder. After uniform mixing through shearing and plasticization, the composition is obtained by pelletization. Compared to existing technologies, the composition of the present invention exhibits lower water absorption and water vapor permeability without significantly reducing the material's mechanical properties, while also possessing high laser weld strength.
