The present invention discloses a high-reflectivity PBT composition suitable for manufacturing reflective cups. The composition comprises, by weight: 30 to 50 parts PBT resin, PET resin 10–20 parts, shaped glass fiber 5–8 parts, whiskers 5–10 parts, toughening and volume-increasing agent 4–7 parts, flame retardant 8–14 parts, reflective filler mineral 20–30 parts, and processing aid 0.8–1.5 parts. The preparation method involves uniformly blending PBT resin, PET resin, toughening/volume-increasing agent, flame retardant, reflective mineral filler, and processing aids. The mixture is then fed into the main inlet of a twin-screw extruder. The shaped glass fibers and whiskers are separately introduced through two side inlets located in the middle section of the twin-screw extruder. with the twin-screw extruder temperature controlled at 180–240°C. The molten material undergoes mixing and plasticization before extrusion and pelletization to yield high-reflectivity PBT composite plastic pellets. The high-reflectivity PBT composite of this invention can be used to manufacture reflective cups.
