The present invention provides a self-healing electrical insulating TPU hot melt adhesive, relating to the technical field of adhesive film packaging materials for electrical components. The formula and preparation method of the hot melt adhesive are as follows: thermoplastic polyester polyurethane (TPU resin), disulfide, peroxide initiator, antioxidant and ultraviolet absorber are mixed in a mass ratio of 100:1–3:1:1:1, mixed by an internal mixer at 80°C, pelletized by a twin-screw extruder, and cast into a film by a casting machine to obtain the final product. When in use, the hot melt adhesive can be hot-pressed and cured at 120°C–140°C for 0.5–2 h. The TPU hot melt adhesive and disulfide undergo free radical copolymerization under the action of the peroxide initiator, leading to curing and crosslinking of the adhesive film. The disulfide bonds with reversible crosslinking properties introduced between the molecular chains of the TPU resin endow the TPU with self-healing properties on the basis of ensuring excellent mechanical properties of the TPU.
