The composition comprises polyethylene, a crosslinking agent, at least one phosphorus-containing auxiliary agent, and at least one nitrogen-containing auxiliary agent. Based on 100 parts by weight of polyethylene, the amount of the crosslinking agent is 1–2.5 parts by weight, the amount of the phosphorus-containing auxiliary agent is 0.1–3 parts by weight, and the amount of the nitrogen-containing auxiliary agent is 0.1–2 parts by weight. The crosslinkable polyolefin composition has excellent DC breakdown strength and can suppress space charge injection and accumulation. When used in high-voltage or ultra-high-voltage insulated cables, it can significantly improve long-term operational stability and extend the service life of the cables.
