The invention discloses a PA6/HDPE composite material applicable to high-voltage insulators and its preparation method. The composite material is composed of the following raw materials by weight percentage: HDPE 10‑60%, PA6 10‑20%, compatibilizer 5‑10%, compound flame retardant 15‑25%, inorganic filler 10‑15%, stabilizer 0.5‑5%, crosslinking auxiliary 1‑3%, and lubricant 0.1‑3%. The raw materials are high-speed premixed, extruded and granulated by a twin-screw extruder, injection molded, and further irradiated and modified by electron beam to obtain the high-voltage insulator product. After electron beam irradiation modification, the comprehensive performance of the material is greatly enhanced, especially in weather resistance and transient heat resistance. It also solves the shrinkage and pore defects of thick-walled products made of single HDPE material.
