A Heat-Shrink Resistant High-Flow Polylactic Acid Material

This invention discloses the preparation and application of a heat-resistant, shrink-resistant, high-flow polylactic acid (PLA) with excellent flow properties and superior heat-shrink resistance, suitable for meltblown nonwoven fabrics.

By weight, the material comprises: 46–97 parts polylactic acid (PLA), 1–40 parts toughening agent, 0.1–2 parts antioxidant, 0.1–3 parts nucleating agent, 1–5 parts natural organic acid, and 0.5–4 parts chitosan.

Melt blending via a twin-screw extruder yields a high-flow composite material.

The blended material is processed into melt-blown fabric, which exhibits excellent heat-shrink resistance after electron beam irradiation crosslinking.
