A low VOC content polycaprolactone resin and its preparation method

The invention belongs to the field of polycaprolactone resins, and relates to a low-VOC polycaprolactone resin and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: pretreating polycaprolactone with a microwave vacuum two-stage devolatilizer, then pelletizing the pretreated polycaprolactone, blending the pellets with processing aids, and extruding and granulating the mixture. The pretreatment with the microwave vacuum two-stage devolatilizer comprises: first performing vacuum heat treatment at a vacuum degree above −0.05 MPa, a treatment temperature of 30–55°C, and a treatment time of 10–120 min; then performing microwave heating for 4–10 min at a microwave power density of 10–50 W/L, with a material gas-solid ratio ≥ 4. The total volatile organic compounds and odor of the polycaprolactone resin of the invention are significantly reduced, well overcoming the shortcomings of the prior art. The process is simple, reliable, and low in cost, suitable for high-grade automotive interior parts, medical and food packaging materials with high environmental protection requirements.
