The present invention discloses an energy-saving insulation material for buildings, falling within the field of building materials technology. It comprises the following raw materials by weight: 50 parts polystyrene, 15–20 parts insulating filler, 4–6 parts polyolefin elastomer, 2–3 parts flame retardant additive, and 4–5 parts azodicarbonamide. The raw materials are blended according to the ratio using a high-speed mixer, granulated via a twin-screw extruder, and then foamed and extruded using a single-screw extruder to produce the insulation material. This insulation material is polystyrene foam, which inherently possesses a rich cellular structure, granting it excellent thermal insulation and heat retention properties. The addition of insulation fillers—sepiolite fibers and aluminosilicate fibers—to the foam raw material effectively enhances the thermal insulation and heat retention performance. Furthermore, incorporating flame-retardant additives into the raw materials not only confers safe and stable flame-retardant properties to the polystyrene foam but also enhances the interaction force between the thermal insulation fillers and the matrix, thereby further improving thermal insulation performance.
