Biomass-Modified ABS Foam Material and Its Preparation Method

The present invention provides a biomass-modified ABS foam material and its preparation method. The foam material comprises, by weight: acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) pellets, 85 to 97 parts; waste biomass filler, 3 to 15 parts; wherein the total amount of ABS and waste biomass filler is 100 parts. The preparation method comprises: crushing the waste biomass filler to 200 mesh; further grinding it into ultrafine filler powder using an ultra-fine pulverizer; sealing and storing the prepared ultrafine filler powder in a light-protected environment for 1–2 weeks; uniformly mixing the acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) pellets with the ultrafine filler powder; extruding the uniformly mixed compound through a co-rotating twin-screw extruder to form filaments, which are then pelletized. This foamed material and its preparation method achieve foaming effects without lowering ABS processing temperatures, featuring simple processes, low costs, and environmentally friendly efficiency. During preparation of the novel composite material, a caramel-like sweet aroma is emitted, and the material is non-toxic.
