The present invention provides a method for dissolving rare earth ore, relating to the field of rare earth separation technology. This rare earth ore dissolution method comprises the following preparation steps: S1: Prior to dissolving the rare earth ore, the ore and carbon powder undergo repeated sieving to remove particulate impurities, enhancing the quality and fineness of both the ore and carbon powder; S2: During processing of the rare earth ore, the ore and carbon powder are mixed and then formed into solid lumps or granules using a twin-screw extruder. Subsequently, heating is applied in a vertical chlorination furnace while introducing chlorine gas. This process generates three distinct products based on the differing boiling points of chlorides within the furnace. The resulting three waste streams can be separated individually, offering high selectivity and facilitating subsequent dissolution operations for the rare earth ore.
