The present invention relates to the technical field of optical cables, in particular to an ultra-durable OPGW optical cable and a preparation method of its protective layer. The method comprises the following steps: adding raw materials into a low-speed mixer, feeding the mixed materials into a twin-screw extruder to complete the extrusion process, adopting a die core and die sleeve design with a 45° chamfer for the die, and immediately feeding the extruded material into a water tank with a distance of 8–15 cm between the water tank and the die head, so as to finally extrude and form the outer protective layer of the OPGW optical cable. The ultra-durable OPGW optical cable of the present invention significantly improves the mechanical strength and wear resistance of the OPGW optical cable, has excellent corrosion resistance against various chemical corrosions, enhances environmental aging resistance and prolongs the service life of the optical cable. It is suitable for various extreme climatic conditions and harsh environments, broadening the application scope of OPGW optical cables. The preparation method is simple, easy for industrial production and has good economic benefits.
