A Modified Flame-Retardant Polyamide Plastic for Automotive Water Chambers and a Method for Preparing the Same

The invention relates to the technical field of polymer material processing and synthesis, and discloses a modified polyamide flame-retardant plastic for automotive water chambers and a preparation method thereof. The modified polyamide flame-retardant plastic comprises the following raw materials: polyamide, flame retardant, inorganic filler and reinforcing component. Based on the reinforcing component, the reinforcing component comprises 90–95 wt% of reinforcing fibers and the balance non-alkali glass fiber. The reinforcing fibers are obtained by bonding non-alkali glass fiber cloth and sisal cloth of equal area with an adhesive and then crushing, wherein the adhesive is acetal glue dispersed with antimony trioxide. The preparation method comprises: mixing the remaining raw materials except inorganic filler and reinforcing component to obtain mixture B; feeding mixture B from the main feeder of a twin-screw extruder, mixing the inorganic filler and reinforcing component and feeding from the side feeder, and performing melt extrusion and granulation to obtain the modified polyamide flame-retardant plastic. The modified polyamide flame-retardant plastic effectively improves the flame retardancy and insufficient mechanical properties of polyamide.
