The present invention relates to the field of polymer materials and discloses a method for preparing ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer itself, and its applications. The method comprises: polymerizing ethylene and vinyl acetate in a tubular reactor in the presence of an organic peroxide; yielding melt I; melt-blending and pelletizing melt I with component A in a twin-screw extruder to obtain the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer; wherein component A comprises hydrogenated styrene-butadiene block copolymer, antioxidant, and lubricant. The ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer prepared using the method provided by the present invention exhibits high strength, excellent flexibility, good weldability, and processability. It complies with USP Class VI certification and meets the biocompatibility requirements for medical materials.
