The present invention relates to a modified nylon 66 with enhanced flame retardant temperature and its preparation method. This modified nylon 66 comprises the following components by weight: nylon 66: 79–88, fine melamine cyanurate: 12–20, polyethylene glycol: 0.1–0.3, and polytetrafluoroethylene: 0.0–0.4. Preparation is achieved using a twin-screw extruder. Compared to existing technologies, this invention effectively improves the dispersion of flame retardants within nylon 66, elevates the flame retardant temperature of nylon 66, and maintains the tensile strength and impact strength of the modified nylon 66 material without significant reduction, even achieving some degree of enhancement.
