The present invention relates to the technical field of polymer materials, and discloses a flame-retardant material for electric fryer housings. The raw material composition of the flame-retardant material comprises: polyamide 6 (PA6), glass fiber, brominated flame retardant, antimony-based synergist, lanthanum-doped calcined magnesium-aluminum hydrotalcite, antioxidant, lubricant, modified montmorillonite and calcium oxide. The preparation method comprises the following steps: S1: mixing the lanthanum-doped calcined magnesium-aluminum hydrotalcite and modified montmorillonite, and stirring to obtain a premix; S2: mixing the premix with polyamide 6, brominated flame retardant, antimony-based synergist, antioxidant, lubricant and calcium oxide, and stirring to obtain a blend; S3: feeding the blend from the main feed port and the glass fiber from the side feed port, performing melt extrusion and pelletization through a twin-screw extruder to obtain the flame-retardant material. The flame-retardant material prepared by the present invention has excellent flame retardant properties while maintaining good mechanical properties, and has a high comparative tracking index (CTI).
