A Polyamide Composition and Method for Manufacturing Sliding and Rolling Parts Therefrom

The present invention discloses a polyamide composition and a method for manufacturing sliding and rolling parts using the same. The polyamide composition comprises the following components by weight percentage: polyamide 66 resin 29-50%, reinforcing fiber 50-70%, extrusion additives 0-1%; The polyamide 66 resin has a relative viscosity of 1.5–2.0 measured in 96% concentrated sulfuric acid solvent, with a terminal amino to terminal carboxyl group content ratio of 0.85:1 to 1.15:1, and contains phosphorus-containing compounds at 100–200 ppm based on phosphorus atom content. The surface of the reinforcing fibers bears a wetting agent at a content not exceeding 3%. After injection molding parts from polyamide compositions produced by co-extrusion granulation using parallel co-rotating twin-screw extruders, the parts are heat-aged in an inert gas circulation chamber at 190–240°C for no less than 12 hours. This yields excellent appearance and low Ra roughness values.
