A High-Crystallinity Hydrophilic I-Type Polypropylene Composite and Its Preparation Method

The present invention discloses a highly crystalline hydrophilic isotactic polypropylene composite material and its preparation method.

The composite comprises the following components by weight: isotactic polypropylene 80.0–91.1%; polyethylene 0–10%; ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer 2–10%; homopolymer polypropylene 0–8%; nucleating agent 0–0.2; antioxidant 0.1–0.3; co-antioxidant 0.1–0.3.

The interpolymer polypropylene composite material is obtained by compounding and pelletizing the above components via a twin-screw extruder.

EVOH exhibits strong crystallinity due to its block-copolymerized ethylene segments, inducing ordered folding of sPP molecular chains and thereby enhancing sPP crystallinity.

Moreover, EVOH contains a certain proportion of polar groups, endowing the composite material with favorable hydrophilic properties.

By effectively promoting the crystallization of sPP through EVOH and components like iPP and HDPE, and comprehensively utilizing the strengths of each component, it is expected to optimize and significantly enhance the crystallization properties of sPP.

This invention not only expands the selection range of sPP crystallization promoters but also extends the application fields of sPP.
