The invention relates to an ammonium polyphosphate microcapsule and a method for preparing low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant PA6 using the same. The microcapsule has a double-shell structure: the outer layer is a metal oxide coated on ammonium polyphosphate, and the inner layer is polyamide 6. The metal oxide is Al₂O₃, and the mass ratio of ammonium polyphosphate to Al₂O₃ is 5:3. The method is as follows: S1: Coat a metal oxide on the outer layer of ammonium polyphosphate via in-situ self-assembly of nano-sol particles; S2: Form a second shell layer of polyamide 6 through in-situ polymerization to prepare double-shell ammonium polyphosphate microcapsules; S3: Blend the microcapsules with polyamide 6 and prepare low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant PA6 via a twin-screw extruder. The invention achieves the following preferable technical effects: improving the water resistance and temperature resistance of ammonium polyphosphate (APP), promoting char layer formation, effectively suppressing smoke release, enhancing compatibility between the flame retardant and the matrix, and achieving improved flame retardancy without sacrificing material performance.
