A High-Oxygen-Index Flame-Retardant PP Composition and Its Preparation Method

The present invention discloses a high oxygen index flame-retardant PP composition and its preparation method. The high oxygen index flame-retardant PP composition of the present invention comprises the following components: PP resin; ammonium polyphosphate; piperazine and/or piperazine derivatives; filler; dispersant; and additives. The preparation method involves proportionally feeding PP resin, ammonium polyphosphate, piperazine and/or piperazine derivatives, fillers, dispersants, and additives through the main feed port into a twin-screw extruder. Each section of the twin-screw extruder is controlled at a temperature of 160°C–190°C. The mixture is extruded through a die, water-cooled, air-dried, and pelletized. The high oxygen index flame-retardant PP composition prepared by this invention incorporates specific piperazine derivatives into the PP resin matrix. This composition exhibits a high oxygen index and is suitable for high-temperature, high-humidity environments such as space heaters and electric heaters.
