The present invention discloses a surface-modified jade powder/PA6 masterbatch and a preparation method thereof. The jade powder/PA6 masterbatch comprises the following raw materials in parts by mass: 12.5 parts of jade powder, 87.5 parts of PA6, and 0.125 parts of coupling agent. The preparation method comprises: dissolving coupling agent cysteine powder in deionized water to obtain a transparent solution; spraying the solution obtained in the step onto jade powder, and stirring in a ball mill for 1–4 h; placing the modified jade powder obtained in the step in a vacuum oven and heating at 120°C for 6 h; mixing the dried modified jade powder with PA6, melt-blending through a twin-screw extruder, extruding and pelletizing to obtain jade powder/PA6 masterbatch; placing the jade powder/PA6 masterbatch obtained in the step in a vacuum oven and heating at 180°C for 1 h. Through surface treatment of jade powder and control of processing conditions, the present invention enables better bonding force between jade powder and PA6, effectively maintaining the thermal conductivity of the jade powder/PA6 composite material while improving the tensile strength thereof.
