The present invention relates to a composition for preparing a thermoplastic elastomer, a method for preparing the thermoplastic elastomer, the thermoplastic elastomer itself, and its applications. The composition comprises, by weight: 100 parts styrene-butadiene rubber, 40-175 parts polypropylene, 1-10 parts vulcanizing agent, 0.1-5 parts antioxidant, and 1-20 parts nano-kaolin. The primary preparation method involves separately adding polypropylene, antioxidant, and styrene-butadiene rubber to an internal mixer for compounding, followed by single-screw extrusion to produce compound pellets. These pellets are then dynamically vulcanized and extruded with nano-kaolin and vulcanizing agent in a twin-screw extruder to yield nano-kaolin-modified styrene-butadiene rubber/polypropylene thermoplastic elastomer. This nano-kaolin-modified styrene-butadiene rubber/polypropylene thermoplastic elastomer exhibits excellent mechanical properties and a simple manufacturing process, making it suitable for automotive lightweighting and rail transit applications.
