A Preparation Method for a Novel Plastic Scintillator in 3D Printing

The present invention discloses a novel method for preparing plastic scintillators for 3D printing. 2,5-Diphenyloxazole and 4-Bis(5-phenyl-2-oxazolyl)benzene are dissolved in a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer at a specific ratio, mixed uniformly to obtain Solution A; This mixture is then heated to polymerize into solid Material A. The solid Material A is fed into a twin-screw extruder for melt extrusion and pelletization. The resulting Material A pellets are used for 3D printing to form Material A hollow tubes with through-cavities. Next, dissolve ZnO nanoparticles, 2,5-diphenyloxazole, and 4-bis(5-phenyl-2-oxazolyl)benzene in a specific ratio within a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, mix thoroughly to obtain Solution B; Finally, the B solution is pre-polymerized and injected into a sealed container. Nitrogen gas is introduced to displace air, and the B solution pre-polymer is slowly injected into the A material hollow tube. The mixture is then heated for polymerization, yielding a novel 3D-printed plastic scintillator that enhances both light yield and photon conduction efficiency.
