A Method for Preparing High-Temperature Resistant Halogen-Free Flame Retardant Masterbatch for PP

This invention discloses a high-temperature resistant PP halogen-free flame retardant masterbatch and a preparation method thereof. 3-5 parts of filler and 8-10 parts of additive diluted with anhydrous ethanol (volume ratio of anhydrous ethanol to additive is 1:1) are ball-milled in a ball mill for 3 hours, then dried at 80°C for 4 hours. After drying, the mixture is fed into a twin-screw extruder with 60-80 parts of polypropylene resin, 0.02-0.04 parts of initiator, and 1-3 parts of lubricant for melt extrusion. The extruded strands are cut into pellets at the die head, cooled, and dried to obtain a high-temperature resistant, halogen-free flame retardant polypropylene masterbatch. The hindered phenol structure improves the thermal oxidative aging resistance of the polypropylene masterbatch; the synergistic effect of N and P jointly enhances the flame retardant performance of the polypropylene masterbatch; the filler and additive are covalently bonded, and the additive is cross-linked with polypropylene. This not only improves the dispersibility of the filler but also prevents the additive and filler from easily precipitating, allowing them to function stably for a long time, and significantly improving the high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and flame retardancy of the polypropylene masterbatch.
