The present invention discloses a preparation method for a toughening agent for nylon with low volatility and high toughening efficiency, comprising the following steps: 1) mixing a second polymer and silicone oil in a high-speed mixer, and then standing the mixture at room temperature for 12h-24h for later use; 2) adding an initiator and a lubricant in proportion in a high-speed mixer, and then mixing for later use; 3) adding a polyolefin elastomer, polypropylene, the oil-filled second polymer obtained in step 1), and maleic anhydride in proportion in a high-speed mixer, and then mixing while gradually adding the mixture obtained in step 2); 4) feeding the material obtained in step 3) into a twin-screw extruder for melt extrusion to obtain the toughening agent. In the present invention, the second polymer is a thermoplastic elastomer containing unsaturated chemical bonds. When added to the reaction system, it not only does not reduce the toughening efficiency of the final product, but also the unsaturated chemical bonds contained can react with the free maleic anhydride in the system, reducing the content of maleic anhydride and improving odor properties.
