Reaction Extrusion Method for the Efficient Preparation of High Molecular Weight Polyester

The present invention discloses a reactive extrusion method for efficiently preparing high-molecular-weight polyester. First, monomers, an initiator and a catalyst in a specific ratio are prepolymerized in a reaction kettle to prepare a prepolymer with a molecular weight of 5.0×10³ to 5.0×10⁴ Da. When the monomer conversion rate in the reaction kettle is 5% to 10%, the prepolymer is fed into the extruder at a certain speed through a melt pump, and the catalyst is continuously supplemented into the twin-screw extruder through an injection pump. After entering the extruder, the materials are mixed by the screw and then directly enter the polymerization stage. Driven by the screw, the materials are efficiently mixed in the mixing section of the screw and complete the polymerization reaction in the extruder. After extrusion through the die head and cooling pelletization, a high-molecular-weight polyester material with a molecular weight of 6.4×10⁴ Da to 2.5×10⁵ Da is prepared. The present invention realizes continuous feeding of materials into the extruder with controllable specific viscosity to directly form stable flow, thus quickly entering the polymerization stage. The process realizes green preparation of polymer materials by reactive extrusion, and has the advantages of fast reaction rate, high processing load, low production cost and continuous production.
