The present invention provides an EVOH coating-modified composite wood pulp fiber, a modification method, a composite reinforced material and a preparation method thereof. The modification method comprises: adding an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) into an organic aqueous solution, mixing and heating to obtain a coating solution; adding wood pulp fibers into the coating solution, mixing and stirring, followed by filtration, washing and drying to obtain the composite wood pulp fiber. The preparation method of the composite reinforced material comprises: mixing the composite wood pulp fiber, poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) and polyglycolic acid (PGA), feeding the mixture into a first twin-screw extruder, melt pelletizing to obtain filler masterbatch; mixing the filler masterbatch, poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT), poly(D-lactic acid) (PDLA), antioxidant, lubricant and plasticizer, feeding the mixture into a second twin-screw extruder, melt pelletizing to obtain the composite reinforced material. In the present invention, an impregnation process is adopted to make EVOH uniformly cover the surface of wood pulp fibers, and EVOH can be used as an interfacial compatibilizer to improve the interfacial compatibility between wood pulp fibers and the resin matrix.
