This invention relates to the field of blood filtration materials technology, and more particularly to a filtration material for removing leukocytes and a method for preparing the same. The preparation method includes the following steps: mixing a MOF masterbatch containing silk fibroin with polybutylene terephthalate, and stirring the mixture at a speed of 400-1200 rpm for 5-30 minutes to obtain a mixed material; feeding the mixed material into a melt-blown twin-screw extruder, and then pumping it to a melt-blown die head via a metering pump, where it is drawn into fibers and laid into a web under the action of hot air to obtain a filtration material for removing leukocytes. The filtration material for removing leukocytes of this invention utilizes the combination of MOFs and silk fibroin, and takes advantage of the large specific surface area of MOFs to further improve the adhesion to leukocytes. Furthermore, it significantly reduces hemolysis during the filtration process.
