A Halogen-Free Flame-Retardant PC Material and Its Preparation Method

The present invention provides a halogen-free flame-retardant PC material and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method is as follows: drying a PC base material to obtain a dried PC base material; high-speed mixing the dried PC base material, silicon-carbon composite flame-retardant filler, polytetrafluoroethylene, ammonium polyphosphate, antioxidant 1010 and antioxidant 168; feeding into a twin-screw extruder for extrusion, assisted by negative pressure exhaust, and cooling with water at a cooling temperature of 55–65°C; pelletizing to obtain halogen-free flame-retardant PC granules; injecting the halogen-free flame-retardant PC granules through an injection molding machine to obtain the halogen-free flame-retardant PC material. In the halogen-free flame-retardant PC material of the present invention, silicon-carbon composite flame-retardant filler is used as a char-forming agent, which improves both the flame retardancy and physical and mechanical properties of the PC material; nano-sized spherical silica powder dispersed in nano-scale can stabilize the phosphorus-carbon structure formed by the outer char layer and ammonium polyphosphate to form a ceramic-like protective layer, limiting oxygen diffusion and blocking heat transmission through the char layer, thereby improving the flame-retardant effect.
