The method includes the following steps: S1, dispersing basalt fibers in an impregnating solution using ultrasonic dispersion, followed by soaking and drying to obtain modified basalt fibers. The impregnating solution consists of the following chemical components by mass percentage: silane coupling agent: 0.5%–1.5%, glacial acetic acid: 0.05%–0.15%, water-based epoxy emulsion: 20%–30%, polyurethane emulsion: 5.0%–10%, nano-zirconium dioxide: 2.5%–5.0%, and the balance being deionized water; S2, uniformly mixing the modified basalt fibers, polyethylene, antioxidant, UV stabilizer, lubricant, compatibilizer, and color masterbatch to obtain a mixture; S3, feeding the mixture into a twin-screw extruder, followed by melting, extrusion, cooling, and pelletizing to obtain the modified basalt fiber-reinforced polyethylene material. This improves the compatibility and interfacial bonding strength between the basalt fibers and polyethylene, thereby enhancing the strength, dimensional stability, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance of the material.
