A High-Strength Injection-Molded Geogrid and Its Manufacturing Process

The present invention provides a high-strength injection-molded geogrid, which is formed by lapping a plurality of crisscross grid strips. The grid strips comprise PET base strips and a coating layer covering the outer surface of the PET base strips, wherein the coating layer is a polyolefin/PET blended modified material. The present invention further provides a manufacturing process of the high-strength injection-molded geogrid: one single-screw extruder extrudes PET material, and another twin-screw extruder extrudes polyolefin/PET blended modified material; the two extruders respectively feed the materials into a double-layer co-extrusion composite die head to extrude composite base strips with PET coated by polyolefin/PET blended modified material. The adoption of PET material greatly improves the strength of geogrid strips; the use of polyolefin/PET blended modification for the coating material ensures good compatibility between polyolefin and PET in the coating material. Due to the PET component in the coating material, the coating layer and PET are better bonded without delamination during subsequent stretching, improving the compatibility between strips and injection-molded nodes.
