The present invention provides a hollow glass microsphere masterbatch and a preparation method thereof, belonging to the technical field of hollow glass microsphere masterbatches. The preparation method comprises steps of preparing thiolated hollow glass microspheres, grafting, dopamine-modified mica powder and granulation. The granulation step comprises: mixing modified hollow glass microspheres, dopamine-modified mica powder, polypropylene resin, lubricant and antioxidant, conducting homogenization treatment for 4–6 min at a homogenization pressure of 6.3–6.7 MPa, adding the mixture into a twin-screw extruder after homogenization, performing melt extrusion at 191–195℃, cooling, granulating and drying to obtain hollow glass microsphere masterbatch. The hollow glass microsphere masterbatch prepared by the present invention has excellent mechanical properties and oxidation resistance.
