The present invention provides a high hydrolysis-resistant modified glass fiber reinforced PBT engineering plastic and a preparation method thereof. The raw materials comprise 15–65 wt% of PBT resin, 10–25 wt% of hydrolysis-resistant masterbatch, 0.5–10 wt% of compatibilizer, 10–50 wt% of modified glass fiber, 0.2–3 wt% of auxiliary hydrolysis-resistant agent, and 0.4–2.5 wt% of other additives. The preparation method comprises: uniformly mixing PBT resin, hydrolysis-resistant agent and other additives in a high-speed mixer, feeding into a single-screw extruder for melt extrusion and granulation to obtain hydrolysis-resistant masterbatch; uniformly mixing the hydrolysis-resistant masterbatch, PBT resin, compatibilizer, flame-retardant synergist, auxiliary hydrolysis-resistant agent and other additives in a high-speed mixer to obtain a premix; feeding the premix into a twin-screw extruder for melt blending, wherein flame retardant and surface-hydrolysis-resistant modified glass fiber are separately fed into the twin-screw extruder through side feeders and blended with the molten premix; after all materials are blended, extruding strips from the head die of the twin-screw extruder, cooling the strips in a cooling water tank, and pelletizing by a pelletizer to obtain the PBT engineering plastic product.
