The present invention relates to the technical field of carbon material preparation, and specifically discloses a method for preparing carbon materials from waste plastics. The method for preparing carbon materials from waste plastics comprises the following steps: taking waste plastics, crushing them, then mixing uniformly with inorganic materials, and putting the mixture into a twin-screw extruder for melt extrusion to obtain carbon material raw materials; putting the carbon material raw materials into a muffle furnace and reacting at 1000–1500℃ for 2–4 h; taking solids after the reaction, washing and drying the solids to obtain the carbon materials. Research shows that the carbon materials prepared by the method of the present invention can endow batteries with high discharge specific capacitance after multiple cycles when applied in batteries. Thus, the carbon materials prepared by the method of the present invention have important application prospects.
