The present invention discloses the synthesis and application of a novel hydroxyethyl ether phosphate flame retardant, comprising: S1: material preparation stage: first selecting a quantitative cyclic phosphate as raw material and diols, and preparing an equal amount of catalyst for later use; S2: mixing and reaction stage: placing the materials prepared in S1 into a reactor for reaction, and performing pressurization, temperature reduction and cooling reflux on the materials to obtain the target product hydroxyethyl ether phosphate flame retardant of the present invention. In the synthesis and application of the novel hydroxyethyl ether phosphate flame retardant, the addition of a dicumyl initiator accelerates the decomposition of the phosphate flame retardant, enabling faster generation of strong acid during decomposition, which is more conducive to char formation of polymers. Secondly, the present invention uses a tri-screw extruder to solve the drawbacks of twin-screw extruders, reducing the energy consumption of production equipment. Meanwhile, compared with traditional twin-screw extruders, the tri-screw extruder can achieve better material kneading effect under the same shear strength and has higher production capacity.
