The feed channel is at least partially formed in a feed melt hopper (51) in the feed section. The feed melt hopper has a twin extruder screw receiving portion for two screw tips of two extruder screws (201, 202) to be arranged side by side on the feed side at the outer side of the housing, and the feed melt hopper widens in an elliptical or oblong funnel section (52) and opens before the screening wheel. The discharge channel is at least partially formed in a discharge melt hopper in the discharge section, and the discharge melt hopper tapers in the flow direction from the funnel section facing the screening wheel.
