Formulation and Manufacturing Process for Injection-Grade Magnetic Plastics Using Polyphenylene Sulfide

This invention also discloses a formula and manufacturing process for producing injection-molding grade magnetic plastics from polyphenylene sulfide, belonging to the field of magnetic plastic preparation. The formula ingredients, by weight percentage, include: 20%-80% polyphenylene sulfide resin, 10%-60% NdFeB magnetic powder, 3%-10% compatibilizer, 0.1%-0.2% nucleating agent, 0.2%-0.4% composite antioxidant, and 10%-30% glass fiber. First, the polyphenylene sulfide resin is dried. Then, the dried polyphenylene sulfide resin, NdFeB magnetic powder, toughening agent, antioxidant, and other additives are thoroughly mixed and dispersed. Next, the mixed materials are fed into a twin-screw extruder for melt extrusion, with the glass fibers added through the vent port. Finally, the extruded material is cooled, air-dried, and granulated. The magnetic polyphenylene sulfide composite material prepared by this method is simple to manufacture, highly effective, and stable. By adding NdFeB magnetic powder, glass fiber, and a compatibilizer, the epoxy functional groups in GMA act as a compatibilizer, increasing the molecular chain length, viscosity, and mechanical properties.
