A Continuous and Efficient Method for Preparing High-Molecular-Weight Polyester Materials

The present invention discloses a continuous and efficient method for preparing high molecular weight polyester materials, comprising the following steps: adding polymerized monomers, excess initiator and excess catalyst into a reaction kettle for ring-opening polymerization until reaction equilibrium is reached, to obtain a high-viscosity feed liquid; the molar ratio of the polymerized monomer to the initiator is 50:1 to 200:1, and the molar ratio of the polymerized monomer to the catalyst is 50:1 to 4000:1; feeding the high-viscosity feed liquid into a twin-screw extruder at a set speed through a melt metering pump, feeding the polymerized monomers pre-melted in a melting kettle from a feeding port on the twin-screw extruder through a metering pump, controlling the rotation speed of the screw, completing the polymerization reaction of the materials in the extruder under the push of the screw, extruding through a die head, followed by cooling and pelletizing. The present invention first prepares a high-viscosity feed liquid containing excess catalyst and initiator, which can directly form stable flow in the extruder. Polylactic acid (PLA) with different molecular weights can be prepared by simply adjusting the feeding speed of the high-viscosity feed liquid and the polymerized monomers and the feeding position of the materials. The process has the advantages of high processing load, low production cost, high molecular weight of the prepared PLA, and continuous production.
